HealthCareCAN Statement – Attack on Ukraine

HealthCareCAN Statement – Attack on Ukraine

March 1, 2022 (Ottawa) – HealthCareCAN, the national voice of healthcare and health research institutions in Canada and on behalf of our 58 institutional members from across the country, decries the terrible attacks occurring in Ukraine.

Our thoughts also go out to the many, many people being injured or killed in this aggression and to the healthcare workers and others working so bravely to help them.

All we ask is for an immediate end to the aggression so that the people of Ukraine may be safe and soon find peace in their homeland.

The people of Canada, HealthCareCAN and its members all stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and we are heartened to see that the Government of Canada is working to help bring an end to the aggression and has committed to matching donations made between Feb. 24 and March 18 to the Red Cross Canada Humanitarian Crisis Appeal. This effort will bring much-needed aid to the people of Ukraine now, when they need it most.

Paul-Émile Cloutier
President & CEO

HealthCareCAN is the national voice of healthcare organizations, hospitals an health research institutions across Canada. We foster informed and continuous, results-oriented discovery and innovation across the continuum of healthcare.
