June 10, 2019 (Ottawa) – HealthCareCAN is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Rob MacIsaac, President & CEO of Hamilton Health Sciences, as its new Chair of the Board of Directors, effective June 10, 2019.

“As a long-standing member of HealthCareCAN and a staunch advocate for health innovation and transformation, I am honoured to take on the role as Chair the organization’s Board of Directors,” said Mr. MacIsaac. “I look forward to building on HealthCareCAN’s strong commitment to serving its members working to build a world-leading health system that delivers high-quality care to Canadians.”

Mr. MacIsaac has been the President and CEO of Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) – one of the largest and most comprehensive research hospital systems in Ontario – since February 1, 2014. Prior to that, he served as President of Mohawk College from 2009 to 2014, leading the largest campus renewal project in their history. He has also received numerous awards for his accomplishments in community building including the Canada 125 and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medals, and a Paul Harris Fellowship.

“Rob is a strong leader and firmly believes in HealthCareCAN’s mission to deliver high-quality products and services to members in support of health system transformation,” said Mr. Paul-Émile Cloutier, President & CEO of HealthCareCAN. “Under his thoughtful governance, HealthCareCAN will make great strides in catalyzing innovation in the health system on behalf of its members.”

Mr. MacIsaac succeeded Mr. David Diamond, President & CEO of Eastern Health as Chair of HealthCareCAN’s Board of Directors at the June 10 Board of Directors meeting held at the 2019 National Health Leadership Conference (NHLC) in Toronto, Ontario.

HealthCareCAN is the national voice of healthcare organizations and hospitals across Canada. We foster informed and continuous, results-oriented discovery and innovation across the continuum of healthcare.
